I didn't realize we had a DeLorean, because the latest performance trend for the web is how the web used to be - static!

As I have been learning React and Next.js, one thing that has caught my eye is the concept of SSG: static site generation. This is what can give us reaaaaaallly fast and performant sites that can be hosted on CDNs and/or blob storage.

Next.js has built-in capabilities around SSG. In fact, this blog is SSG'd. One thing that I need to dig more into regarding SSG is build performance, because the concept relies on the build process pre-rendering the final markup and providing the final static HTML and assets as build artifacts. My assumption is a lot of content needed at build-time means a longer build process.
